Slashcode Bug

Mr. Muskrat on 2006-06-22T13:11:48

I think that I found a bug in the Slashcode here at use.perl.org. Can I reproduce it? Yes, just try to reply to MySQL. You will be redirected to a page on Slashdot entitled "Klez, The Virus that Keeps on Giving" and says "This discussion has been archived, no further changes/additions can be made to it." So that's two bugs actually.

  1. Getting redirected to Slashdot instead of a page at use perl.
  2. The reply button should not be displayed if it's archived.

Hmm, I just hit reply and that didn't happen, and several people seem to have successfully replied already.

Maybe you've got a virus that redirects random url's, though it going to slashdot would be a remarkable coincidence.

Hmm, I just did it here at work and it didn't happen. There is something odd going on with the buttons though. If I do have a virus at home, it's eluded my virus scanner. I'll have to do some extra checks when I get back home.

Just so you know you're not going mad

That was happening to me to for the last couple of days. Seems to be fixed now.

Some of the links and forms on this site had the slashdot.org domain instead of use.perl.org. After the slash page had loaded, if you changed the domain in the URL bar you could get the right page back on use.perl. I emailed pudge about it.

Appears to be fixed now. Thanks Pudge!

The new container with the comment buttons jump to the top of the page though.

I believe no discussions are ever archived at use Perl;.
